This series of paintings starts with placing the webbing to look like fishing nets being pulled out of the sea into the boat. This time I masqued out several floats to see how that would work. I chose similar colors to spray to the first Raising the Nets painting.  I wanted different float types to be included in this one and a high horizon line.  There was a lot more going on in this from the start than what I would consider ideal to build upon.

I've been waiting for it to speak to me to find that "magic" that I was hoping for like I found in Raising the Nets 1. I feel like I"m almost there. The color is slightly off because our good camera had a problem this morning so we used the Iphone to capture this image.  Comments are most welcome and appreciated.  I strongly believe in "critique" as a positive--always remembering it is a critique of my art not me.  So whatever you think could improve this painting -- I would love to hear your comments.

  1. The textures really work well with the harmony of color. The whole, has a lovely relaxing kind of feel to it.
